Mill Market Street

Mill Market is a growing regional market in Sault Sainte Marie dedicated to bringing the best of Northern Ontario’s food, culinary and craft. With the success of the current site, Mill Market aims to expand their space with the development of the Board Mill Building. My proposal for the building aims to create a unique space and atmosphere from the conventional farmers market. Inspired by traditional European street markets, my design incorporates elements of openness, leisure space and natural vegetation. By incorporating passive, well-tempered, systems with the buildings existing features, Mill Market becomes an environmental off-grid structure on the waterfront of Sault Sainte Marie. Adapting to the growth of the building, Mill Market Street brings a new experience to the market atmosphere.
